Sinharaja National Park offers a magnificent variety of creeks and rivers all around with an abundant habitat of birds and reptiles. Come with us and enjoy this nature with a comfortable open kayak, special designed for any passenger, be they experienced or beginners. There are short or long trip on WEWA GANGA or KUKULE GANGA rivers with more than 30 km of tranquil and easy flat water paddling adventure.



WEWA GANGA KAYAKING FLOAT TRIP

The trip begins at Kudawa bridge start point which is by the entrance of the Sinharaja National Park. We navigate a few rapids class I, II and III (portage) which doesn't require any previous experience. After paddling for eight km we portage (carry the boat via the land) the "Kokawita rapid" class III where we watch 5 m drop from the riverbank. We then paddle one km class II easy rapid where your guide will help you to kayak safely through. After a nice bath in the natural pools we re-enter the river to continue the trip for another 13 km where you will be able to see a huge variety of birds and reptiles along the river as well some villagers working on their lands and some hanging bridges and the confluence of two other rivers (Delgoda ganga and Koswata ganga). You will finish the trip at the Kukula ganga Bridge main road where a fresh snack, juice and fruit from the region will great you. The drive back to the Hotel is only 10 min by vehicle.

KUKULE GANGA KAYAKING FLOAT TRIP

 This trip is a gentle float with no rapids suitable for any customers. Our vehicle will drop you to the start point at the Elawella hanging bridge where the access of the river is easier. It is only 5 min drive from the hotel. You will float down the river for about 25 min leaving behind the small villages and getting to the peaceful section of the river, perfect for bird watching and observing creatures along the river bank. After 1hour paddling we encounter another two affluent thus adding more water to the river. From this point on, it is known as the Kukule River. On the way to the Dam you will pass through scenic views, hanging bridges, traditional people along the river working on their rice and tea fields. We finish close to the Dam, where it is an idyllic swimming spot, backed by a tranquil waterfall. We satisfy our stomachs with a delicious snack, juice and wine. The vehicle will take you back to the Hotel with a short 30 min drive.
